This place is similar to the kind of hipster coffee shop/restaurant you might find in a college town in the United States. This place is similar to the kind of hipster coffee shop/restaurant you might find in a college town in the United States. Young, fashionably dressed staff with suitably detached demeanor, vintage decor and furniture that's just slightly uncomfortable, playful/breezy/artsy names for menu items (shall we have a Joan Miro for brunch today, dear?), etc. It's a nice place if a little dreary on an overcast winter day. I've been here twice, and the tea and cake I had the first time was quite good. The second time I made the mistake of getting a brunch item. "A Traveler," I think it was called. Kind of an eggs benedict kind of thing but with gravlax on one side. All ingredients were good quality, I think, and it had some nice fruit that came with it, but it had some kind of sweet sauce on it that ruined it. But I should have known better: "western" food in Asian countries often tends to be glopped, squirted, or even just completely drowning in some kind of sweet sauce. Blech. Also the potatoes were roasted too long. But the sweet syrup distracted me from that. If you want a nice meal there are so many other restaurants in the neighborhood with great food (豐盛食堂, for instance) there's no need to eat here. Just come for cake and coffee.
