From Tai Provincial 13 and the 46.5K on Sanyi Road, Miaoli, one will need to make several turns and through some lanes before arriving to the Sanyi Garden Restaurant away from the city. The reason for the restaurant to be built in such remote area is because the second son, Ji-Zhang Zhang was previously working in the city but felt bad for his aging parents working in agricultural affairs, so he decided to return home and take over the business. His interests in cuisine and his own hospitality drove him to renovate his father’s orchid greenhouse on fallow into a Garden Restaurant.


Golden Ranch Chicken Plate uses selected chicken dipped with Hakka kumquat sauce. The salty and sour taste can boost the savory of chicken.

Hakka Healthy Chicken Soup with Formosan Fig Tree is the best-selling gourmet of the restaurant for the past 20 years.


As Taiwan’s economy develops and consumer habits change, his opened a garden by the restaurant recently, combining Hakka cuisine with garden arts, transforming the restaurant into a leisure garden restaurant. Customers can overlook the mountain views while enjoying the local Hakka cuisine.
