During the agricultural time, the residents mostly lived by the land or ocean. The founder of Zhonggang Seafood Restaurant was originally in laundry business but searched for transition in order to improve life. The founder first thought of the abundance seafood harvest and started operating seafood restaurant. However the founder did not have prior skills and initially hired chefs to work in the kitchen while he learned and helped the chef by the side. One day the chefs left without notice and the owner struggled through a period of hard time with immature skills. However he was unwilling to surrender to failure and has started learning hard, whose culinary skills eventually were recognized.

Zhonggang Seafood Restaurant was founded in 1968. The first-generation owner cooked for nearly 17 years and later moved to current location later. After the second-generation owner took over the business, the restaurant hired additional chefs for Sichuan dishes due to expansion of business. However the business was suffering when the flavor was rejected by consumers. The restaurant was determined to comprehensively change all chefs while customers also returned, surviving through the first crisis. Nonetheless the outbound relocation of many industries in Taiwan in the 1990s cut back the number of business customer, causing the business to decline again. Fortunately the prosperous development of the wedding market turned catering customers into the restaurants, where Zhonggang again survived from crisis management.

The Rice Vermicelli with Pumpkin uses tuna fish to bring out the freshness, which is both fragrant, fresh and mouth melting. Osmanthus Veneroida uses local Veneroida that is particularly fresh in the summer and stir-fried with multiple ingredients until medium rare to retain that crunchy and sweet taste.
