惦惦 (吉安鄉)

Time to chill and tea after visiting the Japanese 慶修院! I thought this kind of cozy café should be all over Taiwan including Hualian but I was wrong. Tiam tiam came to me in the middle of disappointment. Wooden style, handmade dessert, coffee and tea! Extremely delighted!



The floral aroma fills the tiny café. Every corner is with details.

Two of us ordered three things- sweet potato chiffon cake, lemon cheese cake, and fruit tea. The cakes were elegantly garnished. Fluffy with authentic sweet potato. Nice balance of sourness and sweetness.


Overall, I would recommend Tiam tiam for both food and environment. It is also literally a cool place to cool off after walking outside under the sun.

九湯屋 花蓮店 (花蓮市)

This place is reputed for its taste and good price. Indeed price is good but quality is just average when compare to ramen in Hong Kong.


We chose from the Japanese category and ordered the Tokyo ones- pork rib and soy sauce broth respectively. With typical ingredients. Overall the broth is not rich enough despite appropriate portion.
